Hey everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine went pretty well, except for all those pesky hangovers! But, I asked for it. And my body gave it to me! Hard. This hangover has no doubt taken 2 days to get over. I'm FINALLY starting to feel better after my night of drinking at Tracks nightclub here in Denver (a place I won't go to again even if my retarded, over priced cover charge and drinky-poos were covered all night!).

Tonight I'm going to sit down and set some goals for myself. After this weekend I realized a few things, and of those things, the most important is that I'm really not happy with where I'm at in life right now. I'm not depressed or suicidal or anything, but I'm going to find what's in the way of me getting the things I want. At the top of my list? Owning a freaking home and finding the love of my life. I do enjoy my private time, but I think I'm ready to share that private time with someone else.

Anybody single?

Suffering from CODB (Corporate Office D-Baggary)

I don't know how many of you work out of those how-ever-many-story high office buildings in downtown or the business-developed suburbs of the town you live in, but I've been doing it for 6 months here in Denver (to the day, thank you very much) and can I just tell you? I hate it. I... hate it.

As many of you know, for years I worked on-site at an apartment community dealing with residents, phone calls, and offices full of people to interact with. Maintenance men would be buzzing around the office, residents would be shuffling in and out of the clubhouse, coworkers would mingle and talk about resident and company gossip. For the most part, life was good. I enjoyed going into work. I enjoyed what I did. It gave me a sense of accomplishment in the world.

Yeah, well... not anymore. Now, I sit in a super duper extra ultra mega quiet office, in a cubicle, with super high walls, a phone, and computer. I sit in my chair all day long and answer emails from people who sit two cubes over from me, push papers, do a lot of administrative duties, in a department that, I'm sad to say, has not grown on me. I never feel like I've accomplished, well... anything. I am a Property Transitions Coordinator. What do I do? I help coordinate the transition of apartment communities to and from our company. Pretty simple? Yes. Interesting? No. Rewarding? No. Ever changing? ABSOLUTELY. Any consistency? No, other than the fact that everything happens at the very last minute.

Don't get wrong. I LOVE the company I work for. They really do take care of their employees. Much better than I've seen in my whole working life. My boss is understanding, flexible, and great to work for. She goes to bat for the people on her team. Our CEO is actually with it and doesn't expect unrealistic results. All good things.

But here's what I can't stand about this new position. (1) I can't stand sitting in a cubicle day in and day out. I need to be up and moving. I need to do things besides copy and paste information in Excel spreadsheets and answer emails all day. (2) I hate corporate office conversations. Most of them involve the retarded (in a deep, country club voice) "Heeeey Mike! Nice job on the Smith Account there bud! Pretty soon you're going to be up for that promotion!!" or the typical filler conversation in the break room "Hey everyone, it's Friday!" "Did you check out the game last night? That birdie was unreal!" "Any plans for the weekend?" "Did you check out the new girl in accounting? Man does she have some skills!" It's all just so annoying. (3) I don't get corporate office jokes. I just don't get them. I mean... who makes up a joke about not knowing what a PDF is? Or who tells a joke that involves the company firewall and a hamster? DUMB. (4) Everyday I deal with the awkward, eyebrow-bounce smile from my coworkers. You all know what I'm talking about. That fake smile where people pull their lips in, purse them, and pull their eyebrows up and down real-quick at the same time. I get that... at least 20 times a day. (5) Last, but not least, I cannot stand the fact that people who work IN THE SAME OFFICE AND ON THE SAME FLOOR as I do, send me an email to ask a question. Get up from your cube and come over and ask. It won't kill you. And guess what... I'm a nice guy!

I knew taking this job was going to be an adjustment, but I didn't realize it was going to take this much adjusting. Nor did I think it was going to take me 6 months to NOT get anymore comfortable with my new job. Even after how welcoming everyone has been, I'm still not digging it.

I'm hoping to get back to the property sometime in the near future. I'd like to explore other avenues, but guess what... I'm almost 30. Not a good time to start a new career path. I'll post on THAT milestone tomorrow.

I have this disgusting obsession with trying to find the most tear-jerking videos of mothers being surprised by their sons or daughters returning home from war. Coming from a military family and growing up in a military city I understand and appreciate the emotions behind it. Well, readers... even after a year and a half of DOING NOTHING on this blog, I'm ready to start blogging again! Will you have me back? Please? PLEASE!? I'm terribly sorry for disappointing those who came here on a daily basis to get their fill of what I have to say. What was the reasoning for such an abrupt, sudden disappearance?

I'm not going to bore you with all the insane details. But... I will sum it up to just a few things:

1) My blog addy was jacked by GoDaddy.com and they demanded an INSANE amount of money to get it back. This was the start of it all...

2) My job situation changed (for the good... I got promoted!), but the sad part about the promotion was that it was a result of the owners deciding to stick a "For Sale" sign in the front lawn of the apartment community I managed. Sad, sad day. Obviously, I decided to stay with the old company and got transferred up to the corporate office. MAJOR adjustment (I'll post on this later!).

3) I got really, really lazy. And I mean... really lazy. I suppose that's not really a good reason, but I got into a serious habit of becoming addicted to every show on TV. Damn you Netflix and your play instantly awesomeness!

4) I did some growing up (I seriously think there is a second puberty to life). I'm learning to look at things differently now-a-days. You know, I have one year left in my 20's... and I need to start making some major life decisions. I'll be sharing a lot of those with you all (which I'm very excited about!).

5) Finally... there was beer. Well... there is still beer. In fact, there's beer right now. But it's low-carb beer! Woot!

So there you have it. I know it doesn't seem like much, but when you throw in the mix of life and everything that goes along with that, well... it can get pretty busy. What it all mounts up to is that, months later, when I was ready to start blogging again, I felt like I had missed out on so much there was no point in even trying to catch up. But now, I figure this is just part of the fresh start for me. =)

I'm looking forward to getting back to reading about what's going on all of your lives, in the world, and everything else in between. Please come back often, because I promise there will be lots to read about. Love you all. Missed you all. And I can't wait to hear from you!

Hi Readers!

Yes, this blog DOES still exist... and I'm still alive and breathing (barely). Sorry for taking an entire week off and totally neglecting all of you!

Now, now, now. I'm not back in full force as of yet. My company has given me a lovely task, and that task is... re-writing our entire 13-page Rental Agreement for all of our new residents! I'm sure this sounds like everyone's idea of hell, but I have to admit readers, I am having the TIME OF MY LIFE doing this!

I'm such an anal-retentive person, that this is by far and away, the perfect project for my face. And I'm taking as much free time as I can to get this done and get it done right. If they implement this new lease, it will be a giant rainbow feather in my little gay hat and totally protect the company I LURRRRRRV working for.

Thanks for your patience over these past few days, and the following few days, while I stick my giant, Italian nose into legal binders and landlord/tenant law books and create the most rock-solid lease ever designed!

IKEA's Coming to Denver!

Oh, readers... fabulous! This means the rumors that were circulating for three entire fucking years actually were true! Colorado residents, rejoice. Because this is some big shit! And they're going to put crap-tastic American Furniture Warehouse out of business. You all know who I'm talking about... the company who's 800-year old owner is always on TV with those ridiculous farm and circus animals crawling all over him and his low-quality furniture. What's his name again? Jake Jabs?

Anway, they've broken ground on the new location and are expecting to have the store opening in the Fall of 2011 in Park Meadows (bleh!), which is only appropriate, since that area is CHOCK full of psychotic soccer moms and conservative families with no money who live in small, expensive looking homes and cart their spoiled, snot-faced children to school and back in over-sized SUV's and other vehicles they can't afford to drive.

The good news is, the opening date leaves me plenty of time to save up some money and get in shape, cuz this is going to be the new cruising spot for all the gay men in Colorado. Too bad it'll be all cold and wintry then. I guess I'll just have to find a REALLY tight hoodie to wear. ;-)

They've blocked pretty much every one of them from viewing on it. And, I know, it's to force people to purchase music. There is opposition, and risk, but I think that just shows that street art is the sort of frontier where the leading edge really does have to chew through the ice. And it's good for people to remember public space is a battleground, with the government, advertisers and artists all mixing and mashing, and even now the strange cross-pollination taking place as street artists sometimes become brands, and brands camouflaging as street art creating complex hybrids or impersonators. I think it's understanding the strangeness of the playing field where you'll realize that painting street artists, writers, as the bad guys is a shallow view. As for the old bronzes, I really don't see them as part of what's going on in the dialogue unless addressed by a new intervention.

The special stamp was designed by Christian Högl, who works as a professional graphic designer in addition to his volunteer activities as HOSI Wien’s co-president. He also created the graphic designs for the Rainbow Parade for the last eight years. “Austrian Post will dedicate one of the 60 postal stamps to be issued this year to this event,” said Jona Solomon, co-president of Homosexuelle Initiative (HOSI) Wien, Austria’s oldest and leading gay and lesbian organisation, that has been organising the gay pride parade in Vienna since 2003.

George Alan's a supder-duper-conservative Baptist minister in Miami. He's a raging ~~homosexual~~ anti-gay activist. And he just returned from a sunny-filled, 10-day trip to Bermuda with his rent boy, "Lucien".

On April 13, the "rent boy" (whom we'll call Lucien) arrived at Miami International Airport on Iberian Airlines Flight 6123, after a ten-day, fully subsidized trip to Europe. He was soon followed out of customs by an old man with an atavistic mustache and a desperate blond comb-over, pushing an overburdened baggage cart. That man was George Alan Rekers, of North Miami — the callboy's client and, as it happens, one of America's most prominent anti-gay activists. Hey readers! Sorry for the light posting. Work has been taking up a ton of my time lately, as it always does during the first part of the month, or as I like to call it, that time of the month, because I'm sure that if I got a period twelve times a year... it wouldn't be much better. And I'm sure it would be pretty damn heavy, too.

Anyway, this past week has been insane. There was work, laundry, hanging with friends who I hadn't seen in months, bingo (just kidding!), drinking, the beer bust, designing fliers for a friends business, more laundry, more work, and then... getting to know this cutie patootie:

His name is Christopher. And he's got a snake named Dakota and a gecko named Ducky. We met, oddly enough, on Facebook (we had some mutual friends), and after a month or two of commenting back and forth we finally met last week.

I don't know a ton about him, but what I do know is that he's fun, cute, passionate, and an all around great guy. I just wanted to share a little blurb about this cute little purrrrmkin. Blogging may take a little hit while I get to know him, but I'll try to update daily!

Could this be the first time I agree with Republican's view? Possibly. But I'm not sure. Either way, Tim brings up a good point, and I've pondered this same point for fucking years... how the hell is someone who doesn't speak English supposed to read traffic signs that are (yes, you guessed it) written in English?

This could possibly explain why in Denver:

1) People wait until the last possible effing moment to merge when one lane ends on a two-lane road;

2) People speed through school zones;

3) People ignore "Fines Doubled for Speeding" signs and;

4) People give me funny looks when I roll down my window and shout "you stupid mother-fucking asshole with no turn signal and American car with no muffler with a plastic-wrap back window and one headlight! You just cut me off! The next time you do that I'm going to piss all over your left eyeball, rub your face on a rusty cheese grater and then stick a splintered broomstick up your ass! You SUCK!"

Tim is proposing they offer the driving test in one language (English), rather than the twelve that it currently does, to save money. But people are claiming they will lose billions of dollars in public transportation funding.

I'm not really sure how they're figuring that, but the more important issue is, do we really have that many illegal aliens in one state that it's enough to make everyone worry about losing billions of dollars in transportation revenue? There's a bigger fungus amungus if that really is the case.

The officials at a The Wesson Attendance Center in Jackson, Mississippi have decided to completely nix the face of one of their 12-year students, Ceara Sturgis (left), from their 2010 yearbook. First, they decided to reject her yearbook picture because she was wearing a tuxedo in it, citing a 2004 case that involved dress codes and senior photos. And now, they've decided to nix her likeness completely.

Wearing tie-dyed shirts and hoisting signs of love and acceptance, hundreds of high school students and community members rallied outside Boulder High on Thursday to counter a small group of protesters from the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church.

The crowd of counter-protesters, which grew to about 1,000 people after 3 p.m., gathered on both sides of Arapahoe Avenue.

Before school let out, the 1,800 students at Boulder High gathered behind the school for a unity celebration. The goal was to ignore the protesters and avoid conflict, but about the time the pizza ran out and the bell rang, students left the building on the south side and walked around front to confront the protesters.

"We wanted to show how something like this can't tear us apart," said Boulder High freshman Aimee Anderson, 14.

Our wonderful Jennifer made it to the protest, but I was unable to join. Duty calls at work. Plus my manager is in fucking Cabo! Bitch!

I know the entire world is all super-excited over the recent iPhone incident, and that most Apple whores are probably spending embarrassingly long hours on the Gizmoto website, incessantly jacking off to pictures of the new gadget, but I have to say the early unveiling of the iPhone is bad. Really bad. And the person who sold it to Gizmoto for a ridiculously-small fee ($5,000) deserves to have his business shut down and his face dipped into a vat of calf shit.

Apple probably would have paid him ten times that amount of money, if he just would have dropped the fucking thing back to them in the mail and said nothing to anyone. But, no... instead he chose to be the asshole who had to ruin the fun for everyone and negate countless hours of hard work on the side of Apple, just so he could get his shitty, little petty-paycheck. Loser.

It's never good when something like this happens. People don't understand that information like this is invaluable, and I would love to see Apple sue this asshat for costing them millions of dollars, because now that every wireless phone company out there knows what's up their sleeve, Apple has lost the competitive edge for their new phone.

And what really sucks, is that this may cause Apple to nix the new release and send their tech-monkeys right back to the drawing board. Which, if that does happen, is going to really chap my ass, because I need a new iPhone that doesn't have a smashed screen!

One of the duties of the Library of Congress is to archive published works. In order to carry out this task in the Web 2.0 world, the agency will begin archiving every tweet ever publicly published on Twitter:

Twitter is donating its archives of tweets to the Library of Congress, going back to the first one posted by co-founder Jack Dorsey on March 21, 2006. It wasn’t a profound moment, and Dorsey didn’t come close to Twitter’s 140-character limit for messages. He simply posted “Jack,” according to the Library of Congress’ archives.

Twitter and the Library of Congress announced their partnership Wednesday.

The Library of Congress wants to store tweets to give researchers a better way to revisit discussions of significant events, including the tweets that occurred after President Obama’s election in 2008, during the protests in Iran last year and the earthquakes in Haiti and elsewhere this year.

Neat! Now in 2100, we can all look back and ask ourselves "What was twitter? And the internet?" All those teabaggers and ultra-conservative bigots out there better be careful what they say, cuz it's going down in the books forever!

Following the case of Janice Langbehn, a Seattle woman who was denied visitation rights after her partner, Lisa Pond, suffered an aneurysm while on an R-Family cruise, comes this wonderful memo from our wonderful President regarding hospital rights for same-sex partners and medical power of attorney:

"MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

SUBJECT: Respecting the Rights of Hospital Patients to Receive Visitors and to Designate Surrogate Decision Makers for Medical Emergencies

There are few moments in our lives that call for greater compassion and companionship than when a loved one is admitted to the hospital. In these hours of need and moments of pain and anxiety, all of us would hope to have a hand to hold, a shoulder on which to lean -- a loved one to be there for us, as we would be there for them.

Yet every day, all across America, patients are denied the kindnesses and caring of a loved one at their sides -- whether in a sudden medical emergency or a prolonged hospital stay. Often, a widow or widower with no children is denied the support and comfort of a good friend. Members of religious orders are sometimes unable to choose someone other than an immediate family member to visit them and make medical decisions on their behalf. Also uniquely affected are gay and lesbian Americans who are often barred from the bedsides of the partners with whom they may have spent decades of their lives -- unable to be there for the person they love, and unable to act as a legal surrogate if their partner is incapacitated.

For all of these Americans, the failure to have their wishes respected concerning who may visit them or make medical decisions on their behalf has real consequences. It means that doctors and nurses do not always have the best information about patients' medications and medical histories and that friends and certain family members are unable to serve as intermediaries to help communicate patients' needs. It means that a stressful and at times terrifying experience for patients is senselessly compounded by indignity and unfairness. And it means that all too often, people are made to suffer or even to pass away alone, denied the comfort of companionship in their final moments while a loved one is left worrying and pacing down the hall.

Many States have taken steps to try to put an end to these problems. North Carolina recently amended its Patients' Bill of Rights to give each patient "the right to designate visitors who shall receive the same visitation privileges as the patient's immediate family members, regardless of whether the visitors are legally related to the patient" -- a right that applies in every hospital in the State. Delaware, Nebraska, and Minnesota have adopted similar laws.

My Administration can expand on these important steps to ensure that patients can receive compassionate care and equal treatment during their hospital stays. By this memorandum, I request that you take the following steps:

1. Initiate appropriate rulemaking, pursuant to your authority under 42 U.S.C. 1395x and other relevant provisions of law, to ensure that hospitals that participate in Medicare or Medicaid respect the rights of patients to designate visitors. It should be made clear that designated visitors, including individuals designated by legally valid advance directives (such as durable powers of attorney and health care proxies), should enjoy visitation privileges that are no more restrictive than those that immediate family members enjoy. You should also provide that participating hospitals may not deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. The rulemaking should take into account the need for hospitals to restrict visitation in medically appropriate circumstances as well as the clinical decisions that medical professionals make about a patient's care or treatment.

2. Ensure that all hospitals participating in Medicare or Medicaid are in full compliance with regulations, codified at 42 CFR 482.13 and 42 CFR 489.102(a), promulgated to guarantee that all patients' advance directives, such as durable powers of attorney and health care proxies, are respected, and that patients' representatives otherwise have the right to make informed decisions regarding patients' care. Additionally, I request that you issue new guidelines, pursuant to your authority under 42 U.S.C. 1395cc and other relevant provisions of law, and provide technical assistance on how hospitals participating in Medicare or Medicaid can best comply with the regulations and take any additional appropriate measures to fully enforce the regulations.

3. Provide additional recommendations to me, within 180 days of the date of this memorandum, on actions the Department of Health and Human Services can take to address hospital visitation, medical decisionmaking, or other health care issues that affect LGBT patients and their families. This memorandum is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

You are hereby authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.

Grindr's new terms of service certainly are... ahem... thorough. A lot of people are pissed about the extensive list of restrictions Apple has put on the iPhone and in their terms of service, claiming they're trying to create a perfect little world where everyone can coexist and chase butterflies through fields of grain together.

The fact of the matter is, even after all these restrictions, the iPhone still has Safari... so if people want porn, all they need to do is open a different app and start looking. And, these rules only apply to your profile picture. People can send all the nudie, fruity, wet, outlined, and semen-filled pictures they want over Gridnr in private chat.

Lady Gaga's Bad Romance Most Viewed Video on YouTube

With almost 180,000,000 views since it's release over 5 months ago, Bad Romance has become the most-viewed video of all time. Or, in other words, the entire country of Brazil has watched the music video at least once.

That's pretty incredible. And so is the piece of artwork accompanying this post. The illustration is by Ben Heine, who drew each circle individually on a black surface.

Opera for iPhone

If you haven't downloaded the Opera Mini brower for your iPhone yet, you need to do it. Like... right now (since being approved by Apple, it's soared to the number one spot on the Top 25 list... and it took me trying to download it six times before it finally took).

Comparing Safari to Opera is like comparing Internet Explorer to Firefox. The difference is like night and day and there's some excellent features about this browser that totally have my peener dripping. Firstly, Opera has tabs, which is a major plus for me, who's an internet surfing whore who always opens links in new tabs because I'm too damn impatient to click the back button and wait for pages to load. And secondly, the zoom, copy, and find features roooooooock.

Poor Jesse James. What a loser. Radar magazine has harvested this fun ditty of an email that Jesse sent to a couple of his former employees a few years back. What the hell did Sandy ever see in this jackass, anyway? It obviously wasn't his ability to compose documents using proper English, grammar and punctuation. Not to mention his sex-addicted, homophobic, filthy mouth.

Boycott TouchTunes :: Buju Banton Supporters?

Readers, many of you I know are familiar with the popular internet jukebox "TouchTunes", which are slapped on the walls of hundreds of thousands of bars and restaurants across America. On Saturday night, while looking for some new music to entertain myself with, I ran across something that almost knocked me off the damn bar stool I was leaning on:

You saw that shit right. Second from the left, there it is... a Buju Banton album. On a jukebox. IN A GAY BAR. I've written TouchTunes to inform them that I have chosen to not put a damn penny in their jukebox until they remove the album from their lineup of available music. I'm calling on all of you to do the same! You can write them here (email Public Relations). This is what I had to say:

To Whom It May Concern:

As someone who uses your internet jukebox on regular basis (username: badboymccoy), I must write and tell you how disappointed I was to run across an album for Buju Banton last Saturday when looking for some new music to play. You may not be aware, but this group has had dozens of their concerts canceled and picketed for the hateful messages they send through their music. One song in particular, Boom Bye Bye, has gotten world-wide attention due to it's lyrics, which call for the brutal murder of homosexuals.

What's even more bothering, is that this album was made available for play on a jukebox that was placed inside a bar who's patrons are 95% gay. I'm not sure if you demographic those who carry your jukeboxes, or the people who play them, but a band like Buju Banton would be a more popular choice in places like Jamaica, where homosexuals are neither welcome and, in many cases, are brutally beaten just for being gay. It's music groups like Buju Banton that further these cases, and I would hate to think that TouchTunes supports that kind of behavior.

I love the product you provide, and if you look at my play history, you'll see that I've given a lot of my money to further your business. I'm kindly asking that you remove Buju Banton from your lineup completely. There is absolutely no reason for Buju Banton to (1) get per-play pays from your company for their hateful music or (2) be given the opportunity to have their music influence any more hate than what our nation already endures.

Myself and many of my friends have vowed to not drop one dollar into another TouchTunes Jukebox until we see that Buju Banton has been removed from it's listing. There are also several gay bars who I'm sure would agree to unplug their jukeboxes completely and rethink their contracts, should this group not disappear from your lineup.

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding this small, but immediate issue. Thank you for your time.
